Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located on
the island of Luzon in the Philippines, at the intersection of the borders of the provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. Ancestral Pinatubo was a stratovolcano made of andesitedacite. Before 1991, the mountain was inconspicuous and heavily eroded. It was covered in dense forest which supported a population of several thousand indigenous people, the Aeta, who had fled to the mountains from the lowlands when the Spanish conquered the Philippines in 1565. and

The volcano's eruption in June 1991 produced the second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century.[2] The 1991 eruption had a Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 6, and came some 450-500 years after the volcano's last known eruptive activity (estimated as VEI 5, the level of the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens), and some 500-1000 years after previous VEI 6 eruptive activity.[3] Successful predictions of the onset of the climactic eruption led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from the surrounding areas, saving many lives, but as the surrounding areas were severely damaged by pyroclastic flows, ash deposits, and later, lahars caused by rainwater remobilizing earlier volcanic deposits, thousands of houses and other buildings were destroyed.[2]

Its summit was 1,745 m (5,725 ft) above sea level, but only about 600 m above nearby plains, and about 200 m higher than surrounding peaks, which largely obscured it from view.

Mount Banahaw (alternatively Banáhao) is a dormant volcanic complex located on the boundary of Majayjay, Laguna and Lucban, Quezon in Luzon, Philippines. Itis considered to be sacred by the local residents because of its "holy water"and "puwesto"s, or holy sites. These are composed of natural features with shrines located in or on them, revealed to a man by the "Santo Boses" or Holy Voice. It has another of this mountain and it was named as Mount Banahaw de Lucban.

Along Crystalino trail you will pass by the Crystalino Falls, Suplina Falls, Salamin Bubog (glass mirror) which is a small pond in which the waters are still as a mirror; the Kweba ng Dios Ama (cave), one of the most sacred place but you will be disgusted to see a concrete house erected by one of the local sects right in the mouth of the cave; the Pintong Lihim (sacred door)- two large boulders with divergent paths and Niluhuran (place where trees knelt) which was named due to the bent trees which abound the place and some minor pilgrim sites (holy places). At the summit try to visit the Durungawan (view points) I, II, and III (highest point), the cave near the cross and the crater view overlooking Guis-guis and two other rivers Tubig ng Gatas at Tubig ng Dugo (river of blood and milk because one is white as marble and the other red as iron oxide). Along the Tatlong Tangke route, pass by Kapatagan (plains) and the Tatlong Tangke (3 natural water tanks).

Mount Makulot, a 600-meter (2,000 feet) high volcanic rock wall, is said to be part of Taal Volcano’s crater rim. Some scientists contend that Taal Volcano was once a massive volcano before a violent eruption caused the slopes to cave in. This caused water to rush in, forming a lake that left only the tip of the previous peak exposed, and that is now known as the current Volcano Island. The slopes of the previous volcano now formed ridges surrounding the lake, with Mount Makulot as the highest volcanic cone on the south side, Tagaytay Ridge on the north, and at lower level, the lakeshore settlements surrounding Taal Lake.

The "Rockies," located at the northern edge of Mount Makulot, affords one a stunning view of the mountain, the lake and the Volcano Island from a cliff that drops far way down to the jungle below.

Mt. Romelo, a part of the legendary Sierra Madre Mountain Range located in Famy, Laguna, is well known to mountaineers simply as Famy. This is the most accessible trekking destination for Manileños. It boasts of several waterfalls; namely Buruwisan, Batya-Batya, Sampaloc and Lanzones. Buruwisan, the largest fall is an ideal place for rappelling. So if you have the guts, include this in your itinerary and bring a harness, ropes and rappelling devices with you.

This is the most ideal venue to develop your rappelling skills since there is water below that will break your fall. It also gives you the feeling of rushing down with the flow of the water. The catch basin is also ideal for swimming. Above the Buruwisan Falls is the usual campsite. From here, you can trek upstream to Batya-Batya and Sampaloc Falls or downstream to Lanzones and another falls.
